I started taking an Italian class in college but it only lasted a few weeks. I can't remember why. But needless to say, I didn't learn much. Beautiful language, though!

Hello!

I would like to join this thread, too. I'm 36 years old and a mother of three, my son ist 15 years old and my two daughters are almost 4 and 2,5 years old. In my family are living two pugs, too.

Since a half year I watch TV shows in English and some movies, too. I read some books in English already. I've learnd English in school many years ago, now I like to practice my knowledge in this language. I've forgot so much things, it is awful.

My greatest problems are grammar and tenses and I hope someone will correct my sentences.

The current topic crawlies is funny to me, I like spiders, snakes and things like this. I don't own one of these creatures, but some people I knew sooner in my youth. But I understand if someone is scared of these "beasts". One day, it was late and I crocheted something, a spider crawled suddenly on the floor straight to me, a big, black, speedy spider ... I almost screamed! I was so frightened. And I had to sleep in this room afterwards and the spider was hiding somewhere ...

Okay, I hope to improve my skills here with you all, even if we won't talk about scary things.

Italian is my sons third foreign language in the Gymnasium(?). It is really a beautiful language, but I like to walk on the Camino Norte in Spain in a few years, so I should prefer to learn Spanish.

Spanish is nice too

Gymnasium should be high school or secondary school

Hi @ all !

Hmm...spiders are spiders and I think, they shuldn't live in the house. Especially not in my house. The blue one is really beautyful, but i prefer my dog.
My daughter also loved our dog and vice versa.

Last time i had written in english was at business school, this is 13 years ago. My problems in english now are the timephrases and the grammarpart.
And also, in german i called it "Wortfindungsschwierigkeiten".

But a few of you all, are really good in english at all.

How is it to live in america?

I tom Russian in school, too. And later French as well. I've forgotten most of it, though. I might still be able to read and understand some. But I always had a hard time understanding the French speaking it. They didn't sound like outer teacher with her German accent.

we had a native speaker in french class. on the hand hand it was good to learn it without accent. but on the other it was terrible - she tried to teach us grammar in french from the beginning on! how should someone without french knowledge understand a word?
