At first, I should admit: I am not a very frequent writer... but now and then I may have something to add. Secondly, I may quickly introduce myself: Biene, I have passed the magic 30 already, married to a handsome guy (of course), no kids yet, not even pregnant, but trying (touch wood). Hence, I might not be helpful to advice when it comes to question about childcare, school, ......

Well, what really helps to learn English (in my opinion) is watching movies in English AND, in addition, subtitles. I can highly recommend that. Even my husband got convinced and finally agrees to watch movies with subtitles (At the beginning he was always complaining...). It took him a while to get used to the letters in the movie, but it does not only help to understand English, but improves spelling/grammar... we should have done that at school....

Movies are much better in english

yeah, I also like ebglish movies but it is really strange to hear the "real" voices of the actors... we are used to the "german" ones...

My favorite: Sandra Bullock! Her voice is much nicer than the German one... Have you seen her latest movie: the proposal? Some of the jokes are not as good in German as they are in English..... even though they tried really hard and got close...

i have all the good disney movies also in english, like Aladin or the lion king. You dont get those movies on dvd anymore , only on ebay and amazon but there you pay around 60(!) euro per dvd
