one question, why do you call her a caterpillar?? sounds funny

Do you know "Die kleine Raupe Nimmersatt" (the very hungry caterpillar)? Emilia was always hungry in her early days so we named her "Raupe Nimmersatt"

hi girls,

mind if i join you?

I speak English every day with my husband. he's from the U.S. I lived there twice, first as an Aupair, later to go to college for another year. that's when I met my husband. he moved to Germany 7 years ago. but one day we'll move to the U.S.

we're also raising our baby with 2 languages.

I am kind of trying to raise Emilia bilingual but it is really hard if both parents aren't English as you keep going back to your mothertongue all the time

Hi! Welcome Kitty Kat
my friends are also calling my Kitty thats funny. It is cool to meet so many people who like speaking english. Not as difficult as an english chat where they are soo fast, and not as slow as sending letters
How old is your baby?
Some friends do raise their daughter with two languages, too - her dad comes from scottland - but she does not want to speak english. she can understand everything but she does not speak a single word.

thank you! I have not heard this before, so I have learnt something new now... unfortunately most of my penpals do not correct me if I am wrong so I never know if I am right or wrong.

When I moved to the UK I always asked people if they could please correct my English but nobody ever did. I think they do not due to politeness, they do not want to offend you. Or they kept saying "Don't worry, your English is better than my German!". Great, that did not really help!
