Zitat von Octopussy:

Hello,
So I can read English very well , I understand all too well but when it comes to writing, I am a dud . so I usually use Google

Hello.
I wish also to participate, please.
I would like to join your note, Octopussy. It is as if a roller shutter shut down, if I have to write or speak English. Please do not laugh.

Ich würde auch gerne teilnehmen.
Deinem Satz schließe ich mich an, Octopussy. Bei mir ist es, als ob ein Rollladen runter geht, wenn ich in Englisch schreiben oder sprechen muss.

Well I guess it's pretty funny that I found this thread.
Just don't mind my "denglish" every now and then, it just happens.
Always has and probably always will LOL
But I will try to minimize it to not confuse anyone =)

Sooo where to start....
I am 24 years old, still pretty new to this website and I do not have kids.
I am a open book so just ask away if there is anything you would like to know.

If you are interested you could always check your App Store and see if you can download some playful apps to learn English, I am sure they might be helpful especially if you have trouble with remembering words.
Did it myself a little bit ago with Japanese, because apparently being bilingual isn't enough for me HAHA

One last thing...stay away from google translate.
It's okay to use it to figure out certain words, but don't try to translate actual sentences. It sucks and somehow just completely ignores grammar.

English Books depends on what you are interested in, but I really liked the Dr.Hunter Series written by Simon Beckett (The Chemistry of Death is the first book).

Hi guuuuuuuuuuuys

First of all, i wanna thank my family, my great husband and my friends, you are the reason why i'm standing here and.. oh

My name is Denise, but my friends are calling me Lana as well. On june 1st i'm going to celebrate my 27th birthday and yes, i'm afraid of the 30
I'm married since 2008 and i love my man to the moon and back! Our first son Marc was born in march 2012 and our second son Jan was born one and half year later. We are so proud of them, they are definitly our little heroes
We live here in the south of Austria and i'm really in love with our small city which is called Villach.
Okay, that's enough english for today. I have to stop thinking in english, before i can't understand myself anymore

If you are going me on my nerven, I´ll put you into the gulli and make the Deckel druff. So you never come back to the Tageslicht!

Hello, my Name is Jenny and I´m 31 years old and married. My daughter Jule is born in december 2013 and I´m pregnant again with a little babyboy in week 37.

I also like reading in english, but I´ll do this often on an onlinesite named fanfiction.net . There you could read in different genres and also furtherwritet storys about some books or episodes.

Like all of you, I learned english at school and prefer it at business school. But this is too many years ago....

I'd love to join you

I'm almost 30 years old and currently working on my bachelor thesis in English language and literature.
Apart from this, I'm a mother of a 2-year-old son and expecting another son this summer (with growing excitement )

I think this thread is a nice idea, because confidence in speaking a foreign language comes by practice and experience.

And now in English please!

I'm saving the thread aswell,
I used to live in England for a year and a half and my daughters dad is English.

Hello everybody!

I thought it would be a nice idea to join you all. Especially, since I already know some of the nice ladies in this thread.

I'm 30 years old and a biology and chemistry teacher. And I'm currently also teaching English. I'm married to a very nice man and we have a wonderful two and a half year old girl. And we have two dogs. We live in a small town in NRW in our own house.

I also like to read English books and watch TV shows and movies in English. I like different genres, but most of all fantasy and science fiction.
I also like sewing and drawing.

I would also like to join this thread, my english is not the best ... grammar is one of my problems and linking words, I always forget which one is the right one. And I often mix them up ...
If I listen to an interview or to a native speaker I nearly can't understand anything ... and I left school only three years ago, shame on me ...
But I can't remember many things, I have a hole in my head.

I write without any translator or dictionary, so sorry for all my mistakes I'm making. I'm sure there are some of them.

But coming to my person now. I'm actually 21 years old, married and mother of two cute girls. Vanessa is three years old and Franziska nearly eight months. I'm living in lower saxony (or however it is written right) and sometimes I think about making my Abitur in the coming years, so I must understand English and be able to write in it ...

That's enough for today, it's very difficoult for me to think in English because I didn't do that for a very long time.
